Teambuilding at Villa Vallila
Over the weekend of April 26–27, we gathered for a teambuilding workshop in the pleasant surroundings of Villa Vallila. Many of our Kashitu volunteers joined us – mostly university students from Brno, Prague, and Ústí nad Labem – who are involved in preparing the project in Zambia, whether they are joining the trip this year or contributing from...
Spring exhibitions and festivals
We kicked off spring with our Kashitu School project – the construction of a secondary school in Zambia – by organizing a workshop on producing unburned bricks using a manual press. That is to say, in an...
We have team members from different disciplines and each of us has some hobbies and since we are entrepreneurial people, we will make it all work on the project! My colleague Štěpánka is very skilled in sewing and that's why she has planned a sewing workshop and a workshop for this year.
With the completion of the foundation passes, we had to work on the reinforced concrete foundation slab. The slab structure was designed to a thickness of 100 mm with the concreting of bonded reinforcement made of 6 mm diameter bars.
The construction process is in full swing and the outlines of the multifunctional house are slowly but surely taking shape. The team has started by laying out the foundations and is gradually working on the base structure.
