Kashitu’s Next Chapter

24/10/2026

In recent days, work in Kashitu has once again moved forward significantly on several important parts of the project. Construction of the new classroom is reaching a key stage, with crucial elements being completed, while work on the toilets and composting facilities continues. Each individual step is gradually bringing the entire campus closer to the vision that once existed only in plans and imagination.

The roof is finished

Great joy came with the completion of the roof of the new classroom, whose construction has been supported this year by the company Projectman. On Tuesday, the final

Work is also continuing inside and around the classroom. The window sills have been concreted, and in the meantime, Mr. Phiri is finishing the last windows. He is certainly not slacking off – he is welding like crazy so that everything is ready and the construction can move forward.

Centimeters That Make the Difference

On a construction site, it is not only about what is visible at first glance. David is preparing a leveling network, and leveling points have also been concreted, which will be used for further precise surveying.

Together with Ondřej, David also scanned last year’s Honey Workshop building. The data obtained will serve as a basis for creating a 3D model of the actual structure. Thanks to these technologies, it is possible to better document what is being created in Kashitu and to plan the next steps more accurately.

New Toilets Are Getting Solid Foundations

Work on the toilets and composting facilities is also moving forward significantly. On Tuesday evening, excavation and concreting of the foundations for the stairs leading to the campus toilets began. Another important part of the construction is thus taking on its concrete form.

At the Adventists’ site, formwork and reinforcement are being prepared for casting the reinforced concrete floor slab. In addition, Mr. Phiri has completed more toilet bowls for the toilets at the Adventist church.

Another set of essential milestones in the project’s implementation is being successfully checked off.

At first glance, each individual step may seem like a small detail. In reality, however, every one of them represents another piece of work that will not need to be done again. The construction is progressing, the infrastructure is gradually being completed, and Kashitu is step by step transforming into a place where new opportunities will truly serve the entire community.

And that is exactly where the magic of the project lies. Major changes do not happen overnight. They grow out of dozens of small, diligently completed steps – from the last sheet of metal on the roof to a single concreted foundation.
