Autumn team building at Villa Vallila

22/10/2025

After this year's challenging summer in Zambia, a post-return team-building event was held, where participants shared their experiences and feelings from Kashitu and evaluated the past season together. Current volunteers also had the opportunity to meet former volunteers and share their experiences.

The joint weekend took place from Friday, October 10, to Sunday, October 12, at Villa Vallila in Červený Újezd. Those who couldn't attend in person participated in the activities online. Facilitator Markéta Svitáková led a large part of the program. With her help, we focused on evaluating the summer, analyzed the team structure, planned changes, and focused on plans for the coming years. On Saturday evening, we shared stories together with a photo slideshow and presentations, which reminded us of the beauty of Zambia and the situations we went through, but also taught us about the moments our friends from another tour were present.

There was no shortage of excellent food, because, as is the case every year, we brought something tasty to eat and the villa residents and Štěpánka took care of the rest. We would like to thank them very much for that!

The feedback on the event was very positive. "Even though I didn't make it to the whole program, I still enjoyed it very much. The presentations were very entertaining, and the activities that focused on the key issues currently facing the project were great. I thought it was great that Markéta moderated, as it allowed us to really focus on the topic at hand and none of us had to keep an eye on whether we were on schedule, etc. Overall, I think the weekend was very beneficial for the team," said Michal, our site manager from last year.

We consider the event to be very successful. We managed to resolve and discuss a lot of topics, which makes it much easier for us to enter the new season. We also have big plans, so follow our Instagram so you don't miss the opportunity to join the team!
